Pre-Swim Activation Routine for Masters Swimmers
A pre-swim activation routine designed to ready the body for swimming by:
- Increasing the mind-body connection
- Raising body temperature and heart rate
- Targeting our larger muscles to “wake up”
Before and After Stretching Exercises
An approx. 10 minute program. Remember:
- Warm up prior to stretching
- Stretch before and after exercise
- Stretch alternate muscle groups
- Stretch gently and slowly
- Never bounce or stretch rapidly
- Stretch to the point of tension or discomfort, but
- Do not hold your breath but breathing should be slow and steady.
