Pre-Swim Activation Routine for Masters Swimmers

A pre-swim activation routine designed to ready the body for swimming by:

  • Increasing the mind-body connection
  • Raising body temperature and heart rate
  • Targeting our larger muscles to “wake up”

Before and After Stretching Exercises

An approx. 10 minute program. Remember:

  • Warm up prior to stretching
  • Stretch before and after exercise
  • Stretch alternate muscle groups
  • Stretch gently and slowly
  • Never bounce or stretch rapidly
  • Stretch to the point of tension or discomfort, but
  • Do not hold your breath but breathing should be slow and steady.
